Sri Lanka Adventure Quest next year Sri Lanka will be the venue for a five-day international Eco-race where 15 international teams are billed to participate. The Sri Lanka Adventure Quest is from March 31 to April 5. Among the teams will be the World's top four teams who have already confirmed their participation. This project has been initiated by Wild Holidays/Ella/Adventure Park and is actively supported by Sri Lanka Tourist Board and SriLankan Airlines. They have been joined by leading hotel management companies, Keells Hotels Management Services Ltd, Jetwing Hotels Ltd. and Connsissance Hotel Management (Pvt) Ltd. The 5-day race would consist of both land based and water based events and would cover Galle, Ella, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and Sigiriya. It will be organized by the US Company 'Mountain Quest Adventurers', the leaders in the field in USA and arrangements have already been made to cover the events on National Geographic and CNN channels. In this regard, the owners of Mountain Quest Adventurers, Barry Stiff (Race Director), Ms. Liz Caldwell (Technical Race Director) and Col. Lucky Rajasinghe (International Coordinator in U.S.A.) are in Sri Lanka mapping out the route with Major Vijitha Welikala (Executive Director Wild Holidays). The hotel selected are Tamarind Tree, Culture Club, Hunas Falls Hotel, Alpine Hotel Nuwara Eliya, Ella Adventure Park, Unawatuna Beach Resort, Thotupola Bolgoda and Mount Lavinia Hotel. |
