Aangelo Mathew and Ranganath Wijetunge outstanding players by RANJAN ANANDAPPA Josephian Angelo Mathew and Anandian Ranganath Wijetunga won the most outstanding players awards in the under 16 and under 14 categories at the Astra Cup Junior Cricket Awards ceremony 2003 at the Bishop's College Auditorium yesterday. Dharmaraja College Kandy won the under 14 division one championship while Dharmapala College Kottawa were placed runners up. In the under 16 division one championship St.Sebastian's Moratuwa became champs while the runners-up berth went to Nalanda College Colombo. Over 300 schools participated and over 1000 matches were worked out in all divisions. The other award winning schools were. Under 14: - Division four champion: Sri Siddhartha National School Eppawela, Runner up: S. de. S. Jayasinghe MV Dehiwela. Division three: Champion - C. W. W. Kannangara MV Colombo, Runner up: S.Thomas' College Kotte. Division two: Champion - Royal College'B' Colombo, Runner up: Ananda 'B' Colombo. Division one - Champion: Dharmaraja Kandy, Runner up: Dharmapala Vidyalaya Kottawa. Under 16. Division four: Champion - Rangiri Dambula MV, Runner up, Yatiyalpothana MV Polonnaruwa. Division three: Champion - Nalanda, Colombo, Runner up: C. W. W. Kannangara MV, Mathugama. Division two: Champion - Susumayawardena MV ,Colombo, Runner up. Meepawela Amarasuriya MV Galle. Division one: Champion - St.Sebastian's Moratuwa: Runner up: Nalanda College Colombo. |
