Smart Media Support ICASL National Conference Smart Media, the Annual Report Company has once again come forward to support the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka by signing up as the Principal Sponsor of its 24th National Conference to be held from the 11th to the 13th of December, 2003. With Sri Lanka poised on the brink of a rapid growth phase, the Conference this year will focus on the theme, "Managing for Growth". A distinguished panel of foreign and local speakers will present papers at this years Conference. "De-regulation and Reform as Catalysts for Growth", "Driving for Growth", "Building Blocks of a Strong Financial Institution", "Private Sector Participation in Infrastructure and Utilities" and "Aligning Interest of Shareholder Equity and Growth" will be the areas for discussion and debate. "The skills that brought many a Sri Lankan business through the turbulence of uncertainty that beset the country as a result of conflict and a consequential contraction of economic growth, may not be the same skills and competencies required to face the new era of accelerated growth. What then do we need in our armoury to cope and exploit this ? "Managing for Growth" expects to raise question and find solutions", said Asite Talwatte the President of ICASL. The Conference Committee is chaired by Yohan Perera and the Conference Technical Committee is chaired by Dheerendra Abeyaratna. A record number of participants are expected to attend and participate in this year's conference, among who will be the President's of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, India and Pakistan.
