Confifi Group celebrates 33 years of Management Training The Confifi Group completed thirty-three years of their innovative Management Trainee Programme Established in 1970, when the only hotel under the Confifi Group was The Confifi Beach Hotel, this programme through the years has encouraged, and helped young and ambitious management trainees build successful careers by providing them exciting opportunities in the hospitality industry. The Confifi group, the pioneers in the field of hospitality management training, has in the past 33 years recruited candidates with the aim of training them on various aspects of the hospitality industry. The training programme includes hotel operations i.e. training in all departments including kitchen, laundry, house keeping, food and beverage, from office & maintenance. Students are also trained in personnel and administration, marketing and human resources, which makes the Confifi Group Management Training Programme a well-rounded finishing school for the Hospitality Industry. In the initial 2 years, students go through intense training, beginning from basic to advanced learning in each department. In their 3rd and 4th years they get hands on training through strategic placements within the company, in the areas they specialize in. According to estimated figures, there are 30-40 management trainees recruited by the Confifi Group each year. The Confifi Group recruits school leavers who have the required minimum 4 passes at the G.C.E. A/L examination with a good knowledge of English. These trainees are required to sit for an assessment test prior to enroling in the training programme and are expected to sign a bond for the 4-year period. To date, 500 management trainees have been recruited by the Group and trained for higher management positions while some have moved to top management positions in other organisations. Several have accepted employment overseas and a total of 30 management trainees remain within the group today, with fair numbers holding senior positions.One such trainee who reached higher ground within the group is F.H. Ansar, Director Administration who says "Starting off as a management trainee has helped me a great deal in understanding the basics of the hotel industry." The Confifi group's management trainee program, while covering all areas in the hotel industry, includes as an array of social programs for management trainees such as sports, social behaviour, communication skills, leadership, ethics, outward bound training etc. the total experience in Management Training.
