Dharshanie releases CD of piano melodies

Back from Singapore where she was teaching classical piano at the Manning School, Dharshanie Alles (nee Mendis) has released a CD of piano instrumentals titled 'Always' which amply gives expression not only to her repertoire but also to her sensitive piano artistry.

Lending a helping hand to Dharshanie was the Golden Clef Award winning Musician/composer Diliup Gabadamudalige who was responsible for the recording of the album, as well as the musical arrangements and orchestral performance.

The selections performed are all well loved melodies including light classics which any music lover will enjoy listening to over and over again, and as Dharshanie says in the album notes they are favourites of her parents.

Irving Berlin's 'Always' 'Blue Danube', 'Maidens' Prayer, 'Norwegian Cradle Song', 'Over The Waves', 'Tales From the Vienna Woods' and more. Significantly, Dharshanie will be donating the profits from the sale of her debut CD for charitable purposes and according to her will be available in some of the churches in Colombo and the suburbs. Music lovers make sure you get a copy for a worthy cause. You won't be disappointed.
