Thermal insulation covers for water tanks Arpico Plastishells, the pioneer in the field of rotational moulding in Sri Lanka which introduced the first rotational moulded plastic water tank 10 years ago, has announced a new innovation, a heat insulation foil cover. Plastic water tanks are made of high quality, food-grade raw material in black. The colour black, while providing ultraviolet protection, also absorbs heat, which can heat up the water in the tank. Although this may be beneficial for some, many prefer to have their water at an ambient temperature. To solve this problem, Arpico Plastishells has unveiled the foil cover, which greatly reduces the heating effect of sunlight on the water tanks and their contents. Moreover, in areas where the temperature drops sharply at night, the insulation will also reduce the chilling effect on the tank and the water in it. "This innovation is a result of our ongoing research and development programme that provides solutions geared to customer needs, thereby adding value to our products," says Derrick Perera, Product Manager, Arpico Plastishells (Pvt) Ltd. "As an introductory offer, our retail company showrooms will provide the thermal insulation foil covers free of charge with our 500 and 1,000 litre tanks. All our Plastishells water tanks are made of linear low-density food-grade polyethylene, and carry a 10-year guarantee," he added. The thermal insulation cover for Arpico Plastishells tanks comprises a heat reflecting foil with an inner layer of special water resistant foam. This foam layer provides added insulation and is protected by the foil from the elements. The entire cover simply wraps around the outer surface of a Plastishells water tank, which makes it very easy to install. |
