Religious tensions: HRC appoints rapporteur Following the recent religious tensions, a rapporteur has been appointed by the Human Rights Commission (HRC) to probe into unethical conversions and other religious incidents in the country. The HRC has appointed senior counsel R.K.W. Gunesekara as the rapporteur. The director and staff of the Commission have requested Mr. Gunesekara to prepare a report on these issues. An HRC spokesperson told "Lankapuvath" that preliminary investigations are expected to conclude soon and, after the report is submitted, the Commission will seek the government's advice on necessary future action, he said.
