At least 21 dead in Albanian immigrant boat off Italy VLORA, Albania, Saturday (AFP) At least 21 people have been found dead aboard an inflatable boat carrying Albanian illegal immigrants across the Adriatic Sea to Italy, a NATO spokesman in Tirana said Saturday. Antonio Passara said that 18 of the victims were men and three were women. Initial information indicated that at least 30 people may have been crammed on to the boat, which was sinking when it was discovered. The Italian navy said 11 survivors, in a poor state of health, had been taken to hospital in Vlora. |
