Hayleys launches Godrej safes here

The Security Equipment Division of Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited, the renowned multi-sectorial Indian industrial giant, recently unveiled a wide range of security equipment in partnership with Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd., (HCPL) seeking to become a key player in this sector.

As the sole agent for Godrej Security Equipment, Hayleys Consumer will initially distribute and market a range of seven models of Godrej safes which the manufacturer claims can counter the most sophisticated security threats to valuables. These products are targeted at banks, homes, offices and hotels.

Representatives from leading banks, finance and insurance companies and hotels who attended the launch were briefed on the salient features of Godrej security equipment which have withstood artillery attacks in Kuwait and highly destructive fires and earthquakes in India.

The invitees were also briefed on the strengths of the brand and the aspirations of the company for the Sri Lankan market.Vice President of the Security Products Division of Godrej & Boyce, Dara Byramjee, said Godrej is renowned for its brand building, technology and service and is the largest manufacturer of security equipment in India accounting for a market share of 75 per cent. "Godrej enriches quality of life everyday and everywhere", he said.

Managing Director of Hayleys Consumer, Rizvi Zaheed said both Hayleys and Godrej are extremely forward looking companies with over a 125-year tradition.

With a strong base of corporate values, Hayleys has a modern, professional outlook in the way it serves customer needs. "We continually seek to find ways and means of improving the way we serve our customers through superior products, a strong quality consciousness and the speed paradigm," Zaheed added.Initially, Hayleys Consumer will market the Godrej range of 'Defender' burglary and fire resisting safes, two and four-door fire resistant filing cabinets for offices, 'Dataline' data safes for floppies, CDs and other magnetic media, 'Centiguard' fire resistant safes, 'Rhino' safes for office and home, premium coffers and hotels safes.

A US$ 22 million business, the Security Equipment Division of Godrej is the pioneer and leader in the security equipment industry in India with three out of every four banks in India using its products. Godrej and Boyce is the only Indian company in the security equipment business to receive both ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 international quality certifications. The Godrej Fire Resisting Safes and Defender Safes have been certified by the world's premier testing agency, Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) USA, while most other products are tested according to UL standards at India's premier government testing authority.
