Freedom Alliance has no positive plans - P.M

The Freedom Alliance goes round the country and seek the mandate of the people to run the affairs of this country. The PA which had joined hands with the JVP have no plans to solve very vital problems facing this country, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said while addressing UNP political rallies in the Matara district in support of the UNF candidates contesting the general election.

He warned the people at these rallies that the garment industry in this country was in danger due to severe competition in the American market.

"We will not be able to send our products for sale in the American market by 2005 due the competitions brewing in the market. Over one million in this sector might lose their jobs. I have met the American President to avoid this situation. And while I was discussing this issue, President Kumaratunga took away three ministries", the Premier said.
