Heads Asian Govt. Accountants body

N. Warusawitharana, Director General of State Accounts of the Ministry of Finance was appointed Chairperson of the Association of Govt. Accountants Organization of Asia, and was designated to coordinate and take all necessary action, at the concluding session of the first Conference of Controllers General of Accountants Organization of South Asia Region held in Kandy on February 25.

Warusawitharana is a graduate of Peradeniya University and has obtained post-graduate diploma in Public Financial Management. He has obtained training in Leadership and Organizational Management from Malaysia and Public Financial Management and Accounting from Finland and USA. He is the vice-president of the Institute of Public Finance and Development Accountancy with 30 years of experience in Public Service in several capacities.

Presently he is on the directorate of several Boards of Management of Public Enterprises such as Institute of Construction, Training and Development (ICTAD), Institute of Govt. Accounts and Finance (INGAF), and Post Graduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist studies. (PIPBS)
