Dhammissara girls beat Maldives National team by 3 sets to nil

Dhammissara National School under 19 girls volleyball team covered themselves with glory when they beat the visiting Maldives National Team by three sets to nil in a volleyball encounter played at Nattandiya last week. The Maldives team came over to Sri Lanka to gain some practice before the start of the SAF Games in Pakistan.

The win by Dhammissara girls turned out to be a tonic for the players who are the champion schools volleyball team here in Sri Lanka and recently they were well rewarded when Caltex Lubricants Lanka Limited signed a sponsorship contract, both for the boys team as well as the girls team for the next three years.

In the clash against Maldives women's team, Dhammissara girls won 25-22, 26-24 and 25-20.

However, the result was reversed in the boys' match. The Maldives men's team beat Dhammissara boys by three sets to nil, with the scores being 25-23, 25-22 and 25-20.
