PC House celebrates one year in Jaffna and Vavuniya PC House (Pvt) Ltd recently celebrated one year's successful operations at its branches in Jaffna and Vavuniya, notching a 60 -70 % growth in sales over the past year. Among core operations in the northern peninsula are its on-site services, maintenance agreements and the marketing of a range of items such as computers, accessories (TV Cards, modems, network cards, multimedia kits, capture cards) and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, UPS systems). An accredited partner for IBM Computer Solutions and Suntel domestic and business connections, PC House also caters to a wide and varied range of corporate, NGOs, public utilities and financial organizations in the peninsula. Managing Director S.H. Mohamed Rishan has hailed this twin anniversary as a "milestone for PC House. "I am thrilled that in our regional operations, which network over 24 branches around the country, and our commitment to offer the latest IT technology products in Jaffna has gained acceptance from people of Jaffna. This is indicative of the trust they have placed in us, and the need of the Jaffna community to enhance IT knowledge" "The booming Jaffna IT market is a direct result of this country's peace process, which the business community hopes will continue permanently. Our success in Jaffna as I see it, is also the success of the Jaffna community, which has shown profound interest in developing and enhancing IT knowledge. This goes hand in hand with our vision of being the Number One IT supplier by year 2005 to create knowledge-based society", he added. Both the Jaffna and Vavuniya branches are centrally located in the heart of the town and have experienced and qualified staff to meet the needs of a large number of customers who range from students to professionals. The Jaffna and Vavuniya customer base also offer potential for work in vertical segments in exploiting business opportunities. Since its inception seven years ago, PC House had been able to consolidate its position and gain recognition in Sri Lanka's rapidly growing sphere of information and communication technology. The company has already begun implementing the ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance system. Outlining plans for the future, Rishan said that the company would focus more as a solution selling company rather than a retail showroom operation. Added to this are strengthening HR, training staff to handle LAN and communications more effectively, and possible tie-ups with resellers in the peninsula. |
