Heightened police vigilance by ANTON NONIS Inspector General of Police, Indra de Silva has given instructions to all police stations to take measures to prevent and deal firmly with post-election violence. Processions and meetings, whether they are celebrations or otherwise, are prohibited to prevent any disruption of law and order. The Inspector General said that police permission will have to be obtained even after this period for any procession or meeting, at least six hours before the event commences, he said. |
