Sampath Bank vs Janashakthi Insurance in Mercantile limited-overs final by RANJAN ANANDAPPA Janashakthi Insurance will meet Sampath Bank in the Mercantile Premier limited overs final on April 25 at the Moratuwa Stadium. Janashakhi defeated East West Marketing on a faster run rate when rain intervened play in their semi-final match played at the P.Sara Stadium and Sampath Bank beat Hatton National Bank by 3 wickets in the second semi final at the NCC grounds yesterday. In reply to Janashakthi Insurance 281 for 4 in 50 overs, East West were 181 for 8 in 42.2 overs when rain interupted play around 5.30pm. Janashakthi produced an excellent allround effort speaheaded by former Test opener Chandika Hathurusinghe who struck a fine 55 and took 3 wickets. Tharaka Gunaratne (54) and Duminda Perera (85) contributed generously towards the winners total. For East West Malinda Warnapura hit an unbeaten 52. Janashakthi Insurance 281 for 4 in 50 overs.
