Power bright ideas

The Shell Companies in Sri Lanka and Deutsche Bank AG (Colombo Branch) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, whereby the latter will partner Shell in its main social investment programme, Shell LiveWIRE.

Deutsche Bank will co-sponsor 96 "Bright Ideas" workshops conducted by Shell LiveWIRE around the island, including the North and East. The "Bright Ideas" workshop is one of the key programmes conducted by LiveWIRE and is aimed at encouraging young people to social development. Roberto Moran, Country Chairman and Managing Director of Shell Gas Lanka said that he was extremely pleased to have Deutsche Bank as a partner in Shell LiveWIRE.

"The MoU between Deutsche Bank and Shell will help Shell LiveWIRE to expand the Bright Ideas workshops further in rural areas and thereby assist more young people", said Mr. Moran.

The staff and management have established the Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation - to create opportunities for the disadvantaged in Asia. In Sri Lanka, the programme conducts a water sanitation project for schools in rural areas and Community Health Care Centre for Pregnant Mothers and Children in the Hambantota District.
