FMM condemns public exposure of private lives

The Free Media Movement (FMM) has deplored the behaviour of all media institutions and personnel who have been involved in the exposure of the alleged relationship between SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem and an adult female of the country.

FMM spokesman, Sunanda Deshapriya, in a news release, states that public exposure of people's private lives was contrary to all media ethics. He had stated that the language used in certain media on the issue was a matter to be extremely perturbed about as it was rhetorical and abusive in nature.

"We have always maintained that all media institutions should be guided by principles of fair and unbiased reporting," the statement added.
