Bens on wheels motor fun rally June 6 Over 500 vehicles will be on parade at the Motor Fun Rally (Bens on Wheels) organised by the '86 Batch of the St. Benedict's College to be held on June 6. This is the first occasion that a school is organising a motor rally and it will start from Galle Face Green at 8.30 a.m. The main sponsor for this motor fun rally is 'Mobil Lubricant Oil' Company and the co-sponsor is 'Edirisinghe Brother-Auto Court' Company. The main objective of organizing this motor fun rally is to commemorate the renovation of the college historical Clock Tower to re-chime after 35 years and to be a part of celebration of OBU Centenary year. The proceeds from this show will be utilized for the uplift of the college. The main participants in the rally will be Old Benedictines and friends which will total about 500 vehicles. Horses and elephants will also participate and it will add more fun to the proceedings. The Motor Fun Rally will take the route of Colpetty along Galle Road - Bambalapitiya junction and along Bauddhaloka Mawatha up to Borella roundabout and proceed along Baseline Road to roundabout of Power Station of Kelanitissa and finally via Sangarajah Mawatha, Kotahena and will end at the College premises. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. a mini carnival will be on at the College premises with trade stalls, fun games, computer games and food stalls. A leading musical group will also be in attendance.
