Air Force cycle race June 5 and 6

All leading cyclists will participate in the 312 km two stage cycle race organised by the Sri Lanka Air Force to be staged on June 5 and 6. The Interim Committee of the Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka will extend its support for this event.

The race will be for two categories-men under-23 and elite racing cycles and women under-23 elite standard cycles. The main men's race will start on Saturday June 5 at 7.30 am in front of the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters Unit, Colombo 2. The route for the stage one-distance 195 km-SLAF HQ, Panchikawatte, Kelaniya, Kadawatha, Kadugannawa, Peradeniya, Matale and finish at Dambulla.

The men's competitors will ride on the second stage (117 km) on Sunday June 6 at 8.00 am from Dambulla and the cyclists will proceed through Maradankadawala, Habarana, Polonnaruwa, Minneriya and finish at Hingurakgoda town. The women's cycle race-40 km, will be on Sunday June 6 starting at 8.00 from Habarana to Hingurakogda via Minneriya.
