Masters degree programs launched

Her Excellency the President, in her capacity as Minister of Education, has approved the conferment of Master's degree in the field of Information Technology (IT) by the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).SLIIT is the largest degree awarding institute in the field of Information Technology in the country as recognised by the University Grants Commission under the Universities Act.

It has over 3,000 students enrolled for the Bachelor's degree programs in IT and over 2000 participants follow continuing professional development programmes within the institute each year.

Having established in the year 1999, SLIIT has over 170 academics and professionals engaged in teaching, research, software development and consultancy services.

With the launch of the Master's degree, SLIIT will conduct three programs leading to - M.Sc in Information Technology -M.Sc in Information Systems (Business Information Technology) and M.Sc in Information Management.

These programs are designed to cater to a wide cross section of professionals who are determined to expand the reach of their professional skills to master the challenges of a information driven economy.

These programs will be conducted at the Colombo Metropolitan Campus of the SLIIT located at the BoC Merchant Tower Kollupitiya, Colombo.

Classes will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays to enable participants already in employment to undertake studies without causing interruption to their work at the regular place of employment.
