The proprietor of the shop and an employee were taken into custody. The suspects were later produced in Court. The modus operandi of the proprietor of the record bar was to record popular tele-dramas and sinhala films shown on television channels and sell it to customers for a lesser price, police said.

Around 25 video parlours and record bars located in Pettah area were raided a fortnight ago and a haul of pirated VCD were seized by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD).
