BAPTIST ­ DR. BRUCE ALBERT.   Formerly of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya and former Registrar of Pestisides; beloved husband of the late Ophelia, beloved son of the late Alfred and Ellen, nephew of the late Alice Faber brother of the late Sheila, Douglas and Noel, expired on 23rd August 2004. His remains were cremated on 24th August at a private funeral, in accordance with his wishes. 

DE VOS ­ S.D.A. (Denis)   Everloving husband of Jeanne, passed away peacefully after a brief illness and was cremated privately according to his wishes on 26th August 2004. St.James Estate, Jaltara, Ranala. Australian, Canadian and U.K. papers please copy.

Beloved husband of Sylvia, loving father of Shiranee (Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation) and late Nelum (Ex American Express Bank), father­in­law of Sunil Ranasinghe (EAP Edirisinghe Group) and Prashant De Mel (Ceylinco Insurance), grandfather of Shalini (Student, St.Bridget’s Convent), expired. Cortege leaves residence at 4.30 p.m. Sunday 29th August 2004 to St. Mary’s Burial Ground, Hapugoda, Kandana.   No. 273, “Edelweiss”, Kopiyawatte, Ragama. 

SENEVIRATNE ­ RIDLEY MARK.   Beloved husband of Roseble Alian, father of Rukmal, Roshini, Roshean, father­in­law of Charika, Priyantha, Shanika, grandfather of Randimal, Niloufer, Shevin, brother of late Kinsley, Lindsfrey, Olga, Teddy, and brother of Godfrey, Erica, Delisha, Annesley, passed away. Cortege leaves residence at 4.00 p.m.   No.61/12, St. Rita’s Road, Ratmalana on Monday 30th August for burial at St. Mary’s Church Burial Ground, Ratmalana. 

SITTAMPALAM ­ MASILAMANI   (Formerly of C.G.R.). Beloved husband of late Mercy Pushparani, father of Thivianandan (Abu Dhabi ­ Commercial Bank), Jeganathan (Ranfer Teas), Arulanandan (James Finlays), son of late Mr & Mrs K.R. Sittampalam, brother of late Vettivel, uncle of Shanthi, father­in­law of Dharmini and Roshani, grandfather of Joanna, Joy, Sarah and Samuel, entered rest. Cortege leaves A.F. Raymond’s Funeral Parlour at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday 29th August. Burial at General Cemetery, Kanatte (General Christian Section).

DE HOEDT ­ RITA (nee de Silva)   Beloved wife of the late Tennyson de Hoedt, beloved mother of Tyrone (W.W. Group), Lorraine (Ceylon Electricity Board), Bryan (Global Baggage), Franklyn (Network Express), Camillus (Fentons), mother­in­law of Manel (Lyceum ­ Kandana), Christine, Mahendrika, Mercia (AGA office ­ Wattala), expired. Cortege leaves residence for burial at St John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Nagoda, Kandana at 4.00 p.m. on 30th August.   No.41, Silva Mawatha, Nagoda, Kandana. 

THARMARATNAM ­ P   Beloved husband of Ruba, precious father of Pramila and Sharmila, loving father­in­law of Marino, passed away peacefully. Cortege leaves residence   No.35, Hekitta Cross Road, Hendala, Wattala at 4.00 p.m. on Monday, August 30th for Cremation at Borella General Cemetery (Hindu Section) at 5.00 p.m. No flowers by request.
