More facilities for Dambulla Economic Centre

The Dambulla Divisional secretariat will get a new building and provide more facilities to the rapidly-developing economic centre of the Matale district.

The Dambulla Special Economic Centre established in 1998 has today developed as an economic hub.

After the International Cricket Stadium was established at Dambulla the tourist arrivals to this city has increased rapidly.

New flyover at Nugegoda Junction

Cabinet approved the building of a new flyover at the Nugegoda - Kohuwela junction on the High Level Road.

It is expected to complete the project within three years.

The main objective of the project is to reduce the traffic snarls in the High Level Road. Rs.600 million will be spent on the project. Rs.200 million will be allocated in the 2005 budget.

Rs.300 million and Rs.100 million will be allocated by years 2006 and 2007 budgets respectively.

Cabinet spokesman Mangala Samaraweera said that government will develop all roads in the Colombo city and reduce the traffic snarls in due course.
