South Asian Body building Fed. to finance quarters for Lanka by SRIAN OBEYESEKERE The South Asian Body building Federation (SABF) has come forward to assist its Sri Lankan counterpart - the Sri Lanka Body Building Federation (SLBBF) by financing the construction of a quarters of is own. Accordingly, the President of the SABBF, M. W. Deen has intimated to donate money for a four-storeyed building, according to his local co-ordinator, Anura Aluthge. "The SABF President has already held discussions with the Sri Lankan authorities including the Minister of Sports regarding the possibility of obtaining government land for a building which is expected to materialise through the Colombo Municipal Council," Aluthge said. There has ben a long felt need for a building of its own by the local Body Building Federation, and it has received the attention of the South Asian region following a growing interest in the muscle sport with local women too being attracted to it. For the first time a bevy of Lankan women are expected to compete in an international muscle contest shortly. |
