SLIM 'Big Event' in March

The SLIM Awards 2004 is by far the most glamorous event held in a calendar year which is organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing. "The Big Event" is scheduled to be held in March 2005 on a powerful platform of ideas and plans.

In addition to the excitement surrounding the event, SLIM Awards also professionally validated by the Advertising fraternity and the MARCOM specialists in the country as the "Local Oscars" of the advertising industry.

Traditionally, SLIM awards recognises the advertising accomplishments of agencies and their creative work displayed throughout the year. Today, the awards focus on the agencies excellence in creativity, execution and outstanding Integrated Marcom efforts.

The glamorous event also recognizes the role of the client in developing and implementing campaigns in advertising mediums such as radio, press and television. POS material, outdoor, packaging, consumer / trade promotion, interactive media, PR, events, transnational and design are looked at in integrated communications.

"The Campaign of the year" is an original idea that has been brought to life via a variety of media. Crystal clear focus should be seen in all the communication materials for the "big idea".

Each element of the campaign should be crafted well, both in terms of copy and art direction. It is a successful campaign with the most powerful message which will be measured in terms of impact, creativity and effectiveness.

The previous year's theme for the SLIM awards was "bound to cross boundaries together". "The theme chosen for the SLIM awards 2005 will be a unique one" said the Chairman SLIM awards 2005 Jagath Gamanayake at the handing over ceremony of the MoU between SLIM and the four A's.
