Lankan wins world prize by Elmo Leonard A Sri Lankan candidate, Anura Heennilame Gankanda, won a world prize for business communication at the recently concluded examination conducted by the Association of Business Executives (ABE) UK. ABE is represented here, by Oxford College of Business (OCB), Colombo. When ABE's Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Ms Christine Gill, conferred the award in Colombo, last week, OCB's visiting lecturer Sisira Wijesinghe who played a part in training Gankanda, was also honoured. Gill said that over 20,000 candidates from 15 countries sat the examination. This was the first time that a Sri Lankan candidate had won a world prize for business communication at the ABE examination, OCB's Managing Director, Upul Daranagama, said. St Patrick's College, UK, a prestigious international school in London, is now a partner of ABE, and OCB is accredited by ABE to conduct courses leading to its examinations. |
