by A. C. de Silva

The inaugural under 14 invitation cricket tournament for coaching Schools and Academies has attracted five Indian teams, a team from Sharjah and a team from Malaysia.

The above tournament has been the brainchild of the CCC School of Cricket under the guidance of veteran Sri Lanka cricket coach Nelson Mendis and its Committee of Management with matches to be held in Colombo. The winners will be awarded the Nelson Mendis Challenge Trophy.

CCC School of Cricket was started in February 1999, and has been in the forefront of Cricket Academies in Sri Lanka, during the last six years.
