Ransilu - a gold at C'wealth Youth Games by S. M. Jiffrey Abdeen - Kandy Sports Corr Seventeen year Kingswood College weight lifter Ransilu Jayatillake created history when he became the first Sri Lankan to win a gold modal at the Commonwealth youth organised by the Commonwealth Games Association and hold at the indoor stadium of La - Tropee University in Brendigo, Melbourne in the State of Victoria, Australia on Friday December 3rd. Ransilu rather big made for his age, competing in the 105 kilogramme bodyweight category lifted a total weight of 275 kilogrammes in the snatch and clean and jerk to walk away with the gold in an event largely competed. |
