Tissa is best in Dhaka

Tissa Chandradasa, who has returned to the country after a stint in the Middle East, was the best among the three Sri Lankan golfers who competed at the 20th Bangladesh Open Amateur Golf Championships at the Kurmitola Golf Club Course in Dhaka last week. Chandradasa had an aggregate 302 over the four rounds (81,75,72,74), while Sri Lanka's champion K. Prabhakaran had 308 (78,82,75,73) and J. J. Kumar 312 (79,81,78,74).

Meanwhile, two juniors fared quite well at the All-India Junior Open Championships, where Mithun Perera tied for the third slot in his age group with an aggregate 228 (76,75,77), while Binupa Wijesinghe was third in his age group with an aggregate of 235 (81,79,75). Both Sanjay Wettimuny (88) and Dinesh Kumar (91 missed the "cut". (L.G.)
