People's Bank provides un-interrupted service

People's Bank said that all its branch offices located in the zones affected by the killer tidal waves have recommenced operations and business activities are now being carried out as usual.

Following the disaster that occurred on Sunday morning, People's Bank operations in the affected areas came to a halt. Seventeen People's Bank branches, which are located in Ampara, Batticaloa, Galle, Jaffna, Matara, Trincomalee and Hambantota were also affected by this unfortunate catastrophe.

However, within two days 15 of its branches in these zones were back in operation with the two remaining branches also scheduled to recommence operations on 30 December. Banking activities are now being conducted as usual in all People's Bank branches island wide, sources said.
