by Rohan Mathes

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has restored to-date the connectivity between most of its affected telephone exchanges and national backbone telecommunications network, a SLT media release said.

However, some individual customers within the affected areas may experience difficulties in obtaining SLT services due to flood damage.

The services in Colombo South, Colombo North, Kalutara, Batticaloa, Ampara, Kalmunai, Trincomalee, Embilipitiya, Sevanagala, Thimbolketiya, Matara, Beliatta, Dikwella, Middeniya, Tangalle, Walasmulla, Weeraketiya and Galle have been restored. Services have been partially restored in Ambalantota, Hungama, Kataragama, Tanamalwila and Tissamaharama areas, while services are still not available in Hambantota, Angunakolapalessa, Suriyawewa and Kosgoda, the release further said.
