Doctor murdered at Incarna Estate in Puttalam

Mystery shrouds the murder of a doctor whose body was discovered by his wife when she visited his bungalow at Incarna Estate at Puliankulama in Puttalam area last Friday.

Dr. G. W. Tilakawardena's wife found her husbands body in his bedroom with both his hands and legs tied up with his sarong and shirt. There were also stab wounds in the doctors chest. The Pallama police have questioned several persons in connection with the murder but arrest have been made so far. According to police the doctor had fired his watcher a week ago and his whereabouts are still not known to the police..

The doctor, a private practioneer in his mid fifties had been practising at Pallama area for some time. He was residing at his 30 acre coconut estate alone most of the time. His wife who resides in Negombo visits him every Tuesday and Friday sometimes with their two children.

According to OIC Pallama Police, Sub Inspector Prasad Jayatlleke the motive for the killing had not been established so far. The killer had not removed anything valuable from his bungalow, he said.
