Lanka's Toyota market impressive

In Sri Lanka the market for Toyota vehicles has been extremely impressive as Toyota has learnt from the roads of the world that the Toyota company has already become the second biggest company in the world today, said Toyota company's Managing Director Nobuhiko Kato at the launching ceremony of the Toyota Double-Cab Hilux on Wednesday in Colombo.

Kato told the media conference that the new Hilux's road performance was built on the use of advanced technologies such as high rigidity frame and the part-time 4WD systems which would deliver robust strength and reassuring power to easily handle varying conditions. He pointed out that the rear suspension was a rigidaxle type and the leaf spring and the damping force of the shock absorbers were optimally tuned to provide excellent stability control and flat ride comfort.

Toyota Product Manager Manjula Navaratne said that one of the special features of the new Hilux Double-Cab was that its diesel filter could be used to run around 30,000 km by ensuring costs reduced and quality maintained. Referring to technology, Navaratne said that the high-rigidity frame structure would provide a strong platform for the Hilux faultless performance by the use of CAE (computer aided engineering) to optimise the body structure which would help to reduce noise and vibration.

Toyota Product Manager Eshan Coorey said that the new Hilux was equipped with ventilated from disc brakes, ABS (anti-lock brake system) which would help to ensure the vehicle's stability when braking on slippery roads or during sudden braking and added that the Hilux was also environmentally-friendly and safe.
