Lankan referees for World Cup games The former Secretary of the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Referees' Association (SLRFRA) and the present Secretary of the SLRFU, Dilroy Fernando, has been picked to referee two Rugby World Cup qualifying matches - India vs Kazakhastan on June 5 at Mumbai and Malaysia vs Guam on June 26 in Kuala Lumpur. Fernando has also been picked as Touch Judge (No. 1) for the Kazakhastan vs Malaysia game at Mumbai on June 7, while Nizam Jamaldeen is the Touch Judge (No. 1) for the India vs Kazakhastan game on June 5 at Mumbai, while being Touch Judge (No. 2) for the Kazakhastan vs Malaysia game on June 7 at Mumbai. Anura Rankothge will be the Touch Judge (No. 2) for the India vs Kazakhastan game on June 5 at Mumbai. Another Sri Lankan, Wimal Perera, has been named as Referee Assessor for two matches - Kazakhastan vs Malaysia on June 7 at Mumbai and India vs Malaysia on June 11 also in Mumbai. L.G. |
