Eden Resort and Spa completes10 years
Eden Resort and Spa will celebrate its achievement of completing ten years in full operation at an informal gathering tomorrow with the management and staff of the property, a spokesman for the Hotel said. On June 3, 1995, the popular town of Beruwela saw its first five-star resort complete with 158 rooms and suites, a choice of restaurants, swimming pool, bars, conference centre and other facilities. This project was not only a milestone in tourism for Sri Lanka but also provided employment for over 500 people and helped with further foreign exchange earnings. Despite the setbacks that have taken place in the tourism industry over the past few years due to various unfortunate incidents, the investment and pioneering efforts of the Confifi Group have reaped enormous benefits through the building of a property of this magnitude. In December 2001, the resort opened its own spa and ayurveda, another first of its kind for Confifi Group Hotels, the spokesman said. ######## Malaysia Airlines set to instal winglets Malaysia Airlines is all set to install winglets for the next generation of Boeing 737 series and Boeing 737 classic series in the Asia-Pacific region.
