Daylight shooting kills media couple by Jayampathy Jayasinghe A well known radio, television presenter Relangie Selvarajah (45) and her husband Sinnathurai Selvarajah (47) was shot dead by an unidentified assassin while both were attending to some work inside a Travel and Communication centre close to St. Peters College Bambalapitiya on Friday afternoon police said. A gunman who burst into the communication centre had first opened fire on Sinnathurai Selvarajah and thereafter at Relangie Selvarajah killing them on the spot. The shooting had taken place around 12.45 P.M. The four employees of the communication centre were missing at the time of shooting. The husband and the wife were in two separate rooms when the gunman burst into their rooms and shot them. Meanwhile the police finger print experts had found several prints at the scene of the crime. Sinnathurai Selvarajah is a PLOTE member. The Mount Lavinia Magistrate Kishani Dodangoda visited the scene of murder and held the magisterial inquiry. Director Colombo Crime Division SSP Sarath Lugoda and his team of officers are investigating the murder. |
