CAVSF strikes again

Four young women found at a brothel house in Maradana near the Technical College, Colombo 10 were taken into custody following a raid by the Central Anti Vice Striking Force last Friday.

The four women, aged between 25 and 30 years are natives from Avissawella, Puwakpitiya and Deraniyagala areas, employed by the brothel keeper. The women are sold to clients who call over at the lodge to indulge in sex for a sum of Rs. 1,500.

According to police the modus operandi of the brothel keeper is to employ pimps to find stranded women at the Pettah bus stand in the night. The pimps bring the stranded women to the lodge who are coaxed by the brothel keeper to indulge in sexual activity. A nominal sum of Rs. 250 is charged from each woman for occupying a room, Police said.

The women have been handed over to the Keselwatte Police to be produced in court. Further inquiries are being conducted by the CAVSF. (JJ)
