Pietersen has minor hamstring strain

MELBOURNE, Oct 8 (Reuters) - England batsman Kevin Pietersen has a "minor" strain of his right hamstring and is doubtful for the World XI's final one-day match against Australia on Sunday, team coach John Wright said on Saturday.

Pietersen had a scan on his leg on Saturday after the 25-year-old pulled up sharply and clutched his leg when fielding at long-on in the second match on Friday. "He had a scan today (Saturday) and has a minor strain," Wright told reporters.

"He'll be reassessed tomorrow (as to whether he can play the final match)." Pietersen batted with a runner, scoring 16 in the World XI's 273 all out chasing Australia's 328 for four on Friday.

Australia won the series with the 55-run victory following a 93-run victory in the first match on Wednesday.
