The Amici outfit

Amici comprises Lahiru Warnakulasuriya on lead vocals, Sampath Jayamaha on rhythm guitars, Kamal Prasanna on octopad, Chinthaka Piyashantha on lead guitars, Stanley Soyza on bass, Nalin Rajapakse on keyboards and Gihan Chinthaka on drums.

Operating under 'Ragazzi' sounds, Amici is the Italian term for 'friends', says Lahiru, its leader. The outfit was formed 12-years back under a different name but as the management underwent a few changes, the guys started playing as a whole new band with its new name. Playing a bit of everything from Sinhala tracks to English ones Amici has taken that extra step to even launch a cassette called Sudu Mal Nela that includes 14 songs.

The guys were first introduced to the public on Rupavahini after which they got a break to play for a programme called 'Looks Like' on 'Sirasa TV.'

Having finally appeared on Gee TV, on Swarnavahini, Amici was also featured on a few radio stations such as Hiru FM and Sha FM. - UM
