Mortein launched two of its latest products - the Mortein Flying Insect Killer Aerosol Spray and the Mortein Power Booster Mosquito Coil, recently.

The Mortein Flying Insect Killer Spray is an aerosol spray that kills flying insects instantly. It is a specialist product specifically targeting mosquitoes and flies and is absolutely odourless. Another benefit is that it is CFC free making it an eco-friendly product.

"We saw a need in the market for an aerosol spray which specializes in tackling mosquitoes and flies. So we are launching the Mortein Flying Insect Killer Aerosol Spray, as a specialist against flying insects" said Rashed Ahamed, Senior Brand Manager for Mortein at Reckitt Benckiser.

The Mortein Power Booster Mosquito Coil was also launched simultaneously.

The product which provides 12 hours of continuous protection from mosquitoes is unique due to its shape which is hexagonal rather than the usual round coils and the fact that it is the most potent coil in the market containing 30% extra incorporation of active ingredients.

Unlike round coils where the surface area of the coil is uniform from beginning to end, due to its unique hexagonal shape, the Mortein Power Booster Coil has corners which are thicker in terms of surface area compared to the straight portion of the Coil. This results in extra power being released whenever the burning coil, reaches a corner.

"As per Sri Lankan regulations, the minimum incorporation level of the active ingredient in a coil is 0.10%. The Mortein Power Booster coil has 0.13% which means that there is 30% extra ingredient going into this coil" said Lakshika Perera, Assistant Brand Manager for Mortein at Reckitt Benckiser.

"As the market leader in the domestic pest control segment, we see it as our responsibility to drive this market through innovations" said Bertram Paul, Head of Marketing, Reckitt Benckiser.

"The Mortein Flying Insect Killer Spray and the Mortein Power Booster Mosquito Coils have been introduced here as a fulfilment of that responsibility and we are confident that these will further consolidate and strengthen our leadership position in this market", he said.
