Modern Terminals partners with Total Soft Bank Modern Terminals Limited, the longest established container terminal operator in Hong Kong with annual volumes of over four million TEUs, will further enhance its overall operations efficiency and container management capabilities. The company has partnered with Total Soft Bank (TSB), one of the leading maritime logistic solutions and services providers, to develop and implement its next-generation terminal management system, The upgraded system provides optimised planning, operations and management functionality for Modern Terminals (MOTOS) day-to-day container terminal management, enabling the company to provide faster and better services to its customers and business associates. Based on J2EE (Java 2 platform, Enterprise Edition), the new system comprises three major modules: Planning module: includes automatic planning components for ships and yards to help minimise the resources and time required for operational planning, Operation module: administers all terminal activities through robust architectural designs with high availability to support round the clock operations, Management module: covers documentation management, billing and analysis, electronic data interchange web-based customer information services, container freight station, as well as equipment repair and maintenance system features. The new solution will also allow Modern Terminals to manage its operations in Hong Kong and Mainland China at a single location. |
