BusinessSmart package for growing businesses

In an innovative move, HSBC rolled out its new business account package, BusinessSmart in Sri Lanka. The sign up of its first customers in the International Transportation sector was held recently at the HSBC Head Office.

Signing up for BusinessSmart accounts during the ceremony were arine International Agencies, Care Logistics and Pan Lanka Travels and Tours.

"BusinessSmart is a readymade bundled solution that is designed for mid-sized businesses that are growing fast", said David J H Griffiths, chief executive officer HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Bearing in mind the importance of speed and convenience to the busy entrepreneur, BusinessSmart also offers free access to a host of 24-hour automated channels such as Internet Banking, Call Centre, Business ATM and the recently introduced Easypay machines. Preferential tariffs apply to transactions initiated via Internet banking. In addition, customers receive a personalised service through dedicated customer service representatives.

"Thanks to a unique feature SmartCredit, HSBC's BusinessSmart customers will be well positioned to take advantage of emerging business opportunities", said Trevine Fernandopulle, head of corporate banking. He said, "SmartCredit takes care of working capital and fixed asset financing needs of customers at competitive rates and the facility approval process can be fast tracked." It also includes a 'no bounce' cheque protection limit for customers.

Another facility, ExpressCredit allows customers to have instant access to an array of credit facilities against deposits maintained by the customer or a third party.

BusinessSmart customers are also entitled to preferential rates on such deposits and borrowings and can draw up to ninety-five percent of the deposit value.

Over time, based on account conduct, customers may be eligible for credit for multiples of the value of deposit pledged as security.
