Confusion at "Multivision"

The administration at Multivion Ltd is in a confused state after the Colombo District on Friday relaxed the enjoining order that restrained a faction of the Board of Management from carrying out functions.

This faction known as the "Hettiarachchi Group" of the Board of Directors have complained to the police that they have been prevented from coming into office by 'thugs 'reportedly employed by the other group in the Board.

The Hettiarachchi Group reportedly under threat to their lives claim that the other faction cannot continue in service and has alleged that a person identified as Gerald Junkeer was occupying the company premises being neither a director nor an employee of the company. They allege that 'thugs' roam the premises carrying arms.

This faction has already brought the incident to the notice of the, IGP, DIC(Colombo) Pujith Jayasundere and the Bambalapitiya Police.

When the Hettiarachchi Group had visited the premises on March 14, accompanied by the police, they have been allowed in and the 'thugs'.

These unauthorised men have told the police they were 'daily paid' employees of the company, the Hettiarachchi faction claimed. However, when the "Hettiarachchi" group had visited the company the following day, they have been told that Mutivision was on vacation till March 20 and prevented entry.

Nihal Hettiarachchi, who claims to be the chairman of the group expressed surprise over a decision that was never informed to him by the Board.

The man "Junkeer' has allegedly removed all cheque books, files and documents of the company, Hettiarachchi told the "Sunday Observer'. Meanwhile, residents at Anderson Road, where Multivision is located claim the area now looked a battlefield with armed men reportedly brandishing weapons from the premises at Multivision.

They urge the police to intervene early to prevent calamity as a result of this ongoing battle between the two factions of the management.
