Govt. denies AP report The government yesterday vehemently denied an Associated Press report datelined, April 1, Islamabad, which claimed that Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse now in Islamabad on an official visit, was there to seek continued assistance to the island's war of separation. The AP report had quoted Lucien Rajakarunanayake, a director of the Sri Lankan President's Media Office as saying,'Pakistan has helped Sri Lanka at a crucial moment with regard to the war of separation. Sri Lanka would look forward to a continued assistance in the same manner". The government described President Rajapakse's visit to Pakistan as a goodwill gesture to strengthen bilateral trade, economic ties and mutual cooperation between the two countries. The two parties on Friday entered into agreements on tourism, culture, railways and education.
