On a tip off given by one of the female customers who had visited an optician at Ambalangoda CTB Super Market, Ambalangoda Police arrested an optician who engaged in video filming female customers' below the hip using a tiny Digital Video Camera.

The female customer who visited this Optician's Shop located on the upper floor of the Super Market of Ambalangoda CTB depot while Eye Testing had spotted a tiny Digital Video Camera concealed inside a box and kept under her feet.

During the process of Eye Testing, this Optician had asked her to look at his Eye Testing Instruments and turn to many angles on different postures the female victim had revealed to the police.

H.Q.I. Ambalangoda Police , Mr. Upul Nilmini Ariaratne on the instructions of S.S.P. Elpitiya, Aupala had sent a Woman Police Constable as a decoy to purchase a pair of spectacles and while the Optician had tried same tactic of Eye Testing was taken into custody by the Police party. Optician at that point had tried to throw the video tape.

Several DVD Video Cassettes, Digital Video Camera and a Laptop computer were among the items taken into police custody. Video Cassettes revealed nude visuals below the hip who of female customers happened to visit this optician 's Shop. In certain visuals even the Optician himself was also filmed without his knowledge, according to the H.Q.I. Ambalangoda Police.

According to Ambalangoda Police , inquiries are continuing to ascertain whether the Optician has links with foreign buyers of nude films. Galle Magistrate, Sumith Aruna Perera remanded the suspect till April 24, 2006.
