Yoshanthi Wellawa - flash sports reporter at CGames

Yoshanthi Wellawa - former Mahamaya Kandy table tennis, chess player had the rare opportunity of been picked as a flash sports reporter on voluntary basis at the recently held Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne, Australia.

There was two weeks training for Yoshanthi before she was absorbed into the job and she covered netball and hockey matches at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Royal Park of the Commonwealth Games area. At Mahamaya, Yoshanthi was a member of the Mahamaya table tennis team that won the team championship at the inter-schools TT Championships in 2001.

She was also the captain of the chess team of the school and was regarded as one of the best chess players produced by Mahamaya in 2000.

Yoshanthi holds the Masters Degree in Mass Media Communication and Professional writing from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.
