TALKING POINT: Angry in Boston

Ranil Wickremesinghe, the UNP big chief, addressed expatriate Tamils at the Boston Tamil Centre recently, on his two-week stint in the US to follow a MIT course.

May be the American melting pot notion got to him, and Wickremesinghe soon rambled-on about getting diverse Sri Lankan forces together under one umbrella.

But foreigners could be sharp, and one INGO boss wouldn't let him away that easily.

He got up and fired this question:

'Mr Wickremesinghe, but your country's President had already got everybody in Sri Lankan on his side except you and Prabhakaran.''

Wickremesinghe got the drift of course, which is why he went into a sulk we hear, and huffed all the way back -- we are told -- to his hotel.....
