A special ceremony was held to commomorate the 2550th Buddha Jayanthi at the Berlin Temple, which is known as 'Das Buddhistische Haus, last week. Addressing the gathering, Sri Lankan Ambassordor in Germany Mr. Jayantha Palipanne had requested the Buddhists, including Germans, to adopt Buddha's preachings into day-to-day life to lead a happy life.

"Let us preach five steps in Buddhism to get happiness into life", he said. Large number of Buddhists, including Germans who became Buddhists, gathered at the Berlin temple in Frohnau. They lit vesak lantens and had decorated the temple with coloured flags. The Buddhist and National Flags were hoisted at the temple, where they had special Buddha poojas.
