International youth conference

An international conference to "bring together youth from different backgrounds and nationalities to address issues facing the youth of today", organised by Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI) in collaboration with the National Council of Swedish Youth Organisation (LSU) will be held at the SLFI, Colombo on May 22 and 23. The theme of the conference is "Strategic Youth Development".

Along with local participants, youth from several other countries including Philippines, Cambodia, Ghana, Sweden, Australia, Canada, Nigeria and USA will take part in the conference. Young actress Sangeetha Weerarathna will be the chief guest and Dr. Chandana Jayaratne, Lecturer at the Department of Physics, Colombo University the guest of honour. Prof.S.Hettige of the Department of Sociology, Colombo University will deliver the keynote address. The conference is held under the Democratic Youth Leadership Programme funded by Swedish International Development Corporation Agency (SIDA).
