Elcardo Industries opens showroom in Ratmalana

Elcardo Industries (Pvt) Ltd. pioneering in manufacturing, trading and exporting industrial products opened its new showroom at Ratmalana.

Elcardo Industries manufactures and exports a range of products such as roller doors, roller shutters, remote control sliding gates, polycarbonate canopies, stainless steel items such as railings, kitchen equipment, pantry cupboards and vehicle accessories.

The company has maintained an excellent relationship with the client base who consist of reputed architects, civil engineers, interior designers and construction companies since 1981, Chairman Elcardo Industries, Athula Weeraratne said.

Elcardo is recognised for ability to deliver tailor-made products and solutions which are best suited to the increasingly diversified needs of customers, he said.

We do our best to deliver well designed products and create value added businesses that anticipate future trends. We have introduced Hi-ten steel (Black and galvanised) purlings to strengthen our product image, Weeraratne said.

Today local industrialists are not recognised and their contributions are under-estimated due to the tremendous inflow of foreign products. The local industrialist should be provided with incentives to support his industry. It is then that the local industry would develop and meet the challenges of the international markets, Industrial Development Minister, Kumara Welgama said.

If the quality of local industrial products improves, competing with international brands will not be an uphill task. The Mahinda Chintanaya spells out the way forward. The government is fully committed to develop the small and medium industries with special focus on rural development.

Minister Welgama said if our industries reach quality standards then we could market products at competitive prices. Elcardo is an example of an industry with humble beginnings that has reached great heights with the dedication and commitment of young industrialists.

It is time that we start producing our goods rather than importing and save foreign exchange. By doing so we could help the local industrialist, the Minister said.

Business Development Executive, Elcardo Industries, Yohan De Silva said, the roller door is a popular product and is recognised islandwide. The roller door factory is fully equipped with the latest machinery. The doors are manufactured under the supervision of skilled labourers using Australian technology and raw material.

Marketing Manager, Elcardo Industries, S. K. Suranga Chaminda said "We export Elcardo roller doors to India and the Maldives. We have set up showrooms in India and that has given us the exposure to international trading.
